Kastil Bambu 37

So, this is another task that was given by Mrs. Wewin. It is to describe about our school life. My choice is to tell about my extracurricular. It is KPA 3!

KPA 3 is the shortness from Keluarga Paduan Angklung 3. KPA 3 is one of the most popular extracurricular in my school. Of course it is popular, because KPA 3 always did an outstanding performance. From the hit pop songs until the classic songs. I was really amazed by them. KPA 3 had made my hair stand with their stunning performance when extracurricular introduction. That's one of the reason why I decided to join KPA 3. Another reason why I join this extracurricular is because it's fun. I mean, we studied for almost 8 hours. We have to get refreshed. And I got refreshed while playing angklung. My first impression to KPA 3 was "They are great". And they really are.

My first practice in KPA 3 was delightful. Here's the brief story.
It was 2 days before the first meeting. My friends who also joined KPA 3 and I got a letter. It was written "Kastil Bambu 37". We had no idea what was that mean. My friend thought that the first meeting would not be held at school since it said "Kastil" or Palace in English. But I don't think so.

It turned out the first meeting was held in a twelfth grade classroom. We were told about many stories about KPA, from the history, succesful alumni, regular events KPA attends, and of course, practice schedules. And, Kastil Bambu 37 was not a place, but it was a shortness from "Keluarga Angklung SMAN Tilu Bangga Menyambut 37". I think it's really cool. (By the way, 37 is the number of generation. So, 32018 are the 37th generation of KPA 3.)

We ate yummy snacks that had been prepared for us. We played some games in order to break the ice and to start building our solidarity. After that, we practiced for the very first time. We played Taylor Swift-Shake It Off. It was my first-time experience and I was excited. And time was ticking so fast, the first meeting came to an end. My friends and I were happy and have no regrets at all. After that, we began to practice every Tuesday and Friday until now. I am always happy when it's time for playing angklung.

Being in KPA 3 makes me feel relaxed and forget about the stressful moments from homeworks. We played interesting songs and we have to concentrate to do well, but it's a lot of fun. Also, the people that join KPA 3 are really friendly. We always smile at each other, and respect each other. KPA 3 is like my second family. I hope it would be like this forever.

Asia-Africa Street

Asia-Africa Strret is one of the most popular streets in Bandung City. It's one of the most frequently passable street in Bandung. Many important buildings are standing in this street. It is a very well-known street for Bandung people.

Asia-Africa Street is a really old street. It was build during the Dutch colonialism era. At first, this street was only a part of the Anyer-Panarukan street. Then, after the city location was moved, this street became a witness of Bandung's development.

I think that Asia-Africa street is a very neat street. It is a large and long street which is always full of people and their vehicles. Not only at day, but also at night. When an event occurs in this street and the road is blocked, people are still coming without their vehicles. This street is just never gets sleep.

In their right and left side, there are many historical buildings. There are Savoy Homann Hotel, Preanger Hotel, 0 km point of Bandung, Merdeka Building, Alun-Alun, a building which was a hotel(I forgot its name), and more. It is a great spot for photographers, or for people who just like to take photos. The architecture is beautiful. For your information, Preanger Hotel was designed by our first president, Ir. Soekarno. And look how amazing the hotel is!

While Savoy Homann Hotel, the oldest hotel in Bandung, does not lose its pride for its 4 star-rating. Savoy Homann is one of the most comfortable and beautiful hotel for me. Its look from the outside is really fancy. But, when you are inside of the hotel, everything is more fancy. The chandeliers, the wallpapers, the furniture, the interior design, everything. I am amazed when I first come to the hotel. Savoy Homann Hotel was also a hotel in 1955 that's used for delegations of Asia-Africa Conference to stay for the night.

And our main building in the Asia-Africa street is Merdeka Building. It is a really cool place for me. It has a lot of tall flag poles in the front of the buildings. Really, a lot. Those flag poles are used to hang various countries flags. And when the flags are all up, it looks really beautiful. Well, the flags are hung when there is an inportant event held. For example, last April, we are proud to be the host of 60 Years Remembrance of Asia-Africa Conference. The street and the sidewalk are decorated nicely by our lovely mayor, Mr. Ridwan Kamil. The flags are all hung up which is an amazing view for me. And there are stones, many "ball-shaped" stones, and are carved with the countries names who participated in the conference in its surface. The stones are placed in the sidewalk of Asia-Africa Street. Oh, and the delegations? They rest in our oldest hotel, Savoy Homann Hotel.

So, I think that Asia-Africa street really holds many histories of Bandung. Even the street's name itself reflects one of the histories, which is about Asia-Africa Conference.

I think that's all that I can share with you guys. Thanks for reading, I hope it's useful. :)
