Kastil Bambu 37

So, this is another task that was given by Mrs. Wewin. It is to describe about our school life. My choice is to tell about my extracurricular. It is KPA 3!

KPA 3 is the shortness from Keluarga Paduan Angklung 3. KPA 3 is one of the most popular extracurricular in my school. Of course it is popular, because KPA 3 always did an outstanding performance. From the hit pop songs until the classic songs. I was really amazed by them. KPA 3 had made my hair stand with their stunning performance when extracurricular introduction. That's one of the reason why I decided to join KPA 3. Another reason why I join this extracurricular is because it's fun. I mean, we studied for almost 8 hours. We have to get refreshed. And I got refreshed while playing angklung. My first impression to KPA 3 was "They are great". And they really are.

My first practice in KPA 3 was delightful. Here's the brief story.
It was 2 days before the first meeting. My friends who also joined KPA 3 and I got a letter. It was written "Kastil Bambu 37". We had no idea what was that mean. My friend thought that the first meeting would not be held at school since it said "Kastil" or Palace in English. But I don't think so.

It turned out the first meeting was held in a twelfth grade classroom. We were told about many stories about KPA, from the history, succesful alumni, regular events KPA attends, and of course, practice schedules. And, Kastil Bambu 37 was not a place, but it was a shortness from "Keluarga Angklung SMAN Tilu Bangga Menyambut 37". I think it's really cool. (By the way, 37 is the number of generation. So, 32018 are the 37th generation of KPA 3.)

We ate yummy snacks that had been prepared for us. We played some games in order to break the ice and to start building our solidarity. After that, we practiced for the very first time. We played Taylor Swift-Shake It Off. It was my first-time experience and I was excited. And time was ticking so fast, the first meeting came to an end. My friends and I were happy and have no regrets at all. After that, we began to practice every Tuesday and Friday until now. I am always happy when it's time for playing angklung.

Being in KPA 3 makes me feel relaxed and forget about the stressful moments from homeworks. We played interesting songs and we have to concentrate to do well, but it's a lot of fun. Also, the people that join KPA 3 are really friendly. We always smile at each other, and respect each other. KPA 3 is like my second family. I hope it would be like this forever.

Asia-Africa Street

Asia-Africa Strret is one of the most popular streets in Bandung City. It's one of the most frequently passable street in Bandung. Many important buildings are standing in this street. It is a very well-known street for Bandung people.

Asia-Africa Street is a really old street. It was build during the Dutch colonialism era. At first, this street was only a part of the Anyer-Panarukan street. Then, after the city location was moved, this street became a witness of Bandung's development.

I think that Asia-Africa street is a very neat street. It is a large and long street which is always full of people and their vehicles. Not only at day, but also at night. When an event occurs in this street and the road is blocked, people are still coming without their vehicles. This street is just never gets sleep.

In their right and left side, there are many historical buildings. There are Savoy Homann Hotel, Preanger Hotel, 0 km point of Bandung, Merdeka Building, Alun-Alun, a building which was a hotel(I forgot its name), and more. It is a great spot for photographers, or for people who just like to take photos. The architecture is beautiful. For your information, Preanger Hotel was designed by our first president, Ir. Soekarno. And look how amazing the hotel is!

While Savoy Homann Hotel, the oldest hotel in Bandung, does not lose its pride for its 4 star-rating. Savoy Homann is one of the most comfortable and beautiful hotel for me. Its look from the outside is really fancy. But, when you are inside of the hotel, everything is more fancy. The chandeliers, the wallpapers, the furniture, the interior design, everything. I am amazed when I first come to the hotel. Savoy Homann Hotel was also a hotel in 1955 that's used for delegations of Asia-Africa Conference to stay for the night.

Savoy Homann Hotel
And our main building in the Asia-Africa street is Merdeka Building. It is a really cool place for me. It has a lot of tall flag poles in the front of the buildings. Really, a lot. Those flag poles are used to hang various countries flags. And when the flags are all up, it looks really beautiful. Well, the flags are hung when there is an inportant event held. For example, last April, we are proud to be the host of 60 Years Remembrance of Asia-Africa Conference. The street and the sidewalk are decorated nicely by our lovely mayor, Mr. Ridwan Kamil. The flags are all hung up which is an amazing view for me. And there are stones, many "ball-shaped" stones, and are carved with the countries names who participated in the conference in its surface. The stones are placed in the sidewalk of Asia-Africa Street. Oh, and the delegations? They rest in our oldest hotel, Savoy Homann Hotel.

60 Years Remembrance of Asia-Africa Conference
So, I think that Asia-Africa street really holds many histories of Bandung. Even the street's name itself reflects one of the histories, which is about Asia-Africa Conference.

I think that's all that I can share with you guys. Thanks for reading, I hope it's useful. :)

My New Friend

Hello people!

In the last post, I talked about myself. Whose child I am, things that I like, and what I want to. This time, it's all about my friend. One of my new friends in school. I hope that I don't mess up :S

So, she's a girl. Her name is Salwa Mazaya Nuraisyah. But, not many people know about her last name, she said it herself :/ .She often called A.W (read:awe) by her friends since elementary school. I don't know why but I find it a little funny. Why? Because it's like a western-style restaurant's name :D (hehe, don't be mad Salwa). But still, I called her Salwa. She was born in Bandung at March 4th, 2000 so she's 39 days older than me. She is a daughter from Mr. Pepen Triana Adhikara and Mrs. Rosita. She has one younger brother. His name is Haitam Taqi and was born on July 24th, 2005, so he's a 5th grader. His hobby is to fight with Salwa:"D .

Salwa has a round chubby face, a small posture, and a pair of big eyes. She wears veil since the kindergarten, and wears glasses. When you see her, you will think that she's a quiet and cute girl. But actually, she can be really crazy sometimes( '_' ). Just kidding. Salwa is really smart, especially in Math. She takes a math lesson twice a week that you may know, KUMON. She's already in the high level in KUMON and she's going to be a completer soon. Good luck, Salwa~!

Now, let's talk about her favorites. Her favorite food is spaghetti. She loves the pasta and the sauce so much. While her favorite drink is sweet tea. She said that it is a simple drink that tastes incredibly delicious:9
Her hobby is reading, eating, and sleeping. She likes reading because it helps her improve her knowledge. She likes eating because it makes her happy and sleeping because it feels great. :))

Things that she loves the most are traveling, reading time, and free time, of course=)) . She loves to read wattpad. Wattpad is an online app that contains many stories that other people wrote. We can also post stories in Wattpad. Cool, right? Well, she loves to read teenage stories in Wattpad. She also likes to watch a Korean TV Program, but since she entered 3 Senior High School, she couldn't watch it often:')

What I find funny in Salwa is that she's afraid of turtles=)) When I asked why, she just doesn't like it:/ She also doesn't like watermelon. She said she doesn't like the texture of the fruit. She doesn't like cats either:( .Once in canteen, there's a cat beside my friend. Because my friend like cats, she put the cat on the table. Salwa began to step away from the cat, even sat on the farthest chair. When the cat approached her, she began to whine and changed seats again. Poor cat, I mean, Salwa._.

The last is, her dream. She wants to enter Institute of Technology Bandung. She's still not sure, but she said she wants to enter pharmacy. She wants to be a successful person and be in heaven. Aaamiiin. Her dream jobs are to be a lecturer and a good wife=)) You have to and I will pray for you to be the best one, hahaha:D (thumbs up).

This is a description about Salwa. Many things that I still don't know about her, but I hope I can get to know her better from now on. Thank you for reading, sorry if I was boring, I'm lacking of humor:")
See you in the next post!

Dialogue

Salwa : (knock knock knock)
Malva : "Who's there?"
Salwa : "Salwa's here!"
Malva : "Oh, come in Salwa."
(Walking along the living room)
Salwa : "Hey Malva, is that your painting?"
Malva : "Umm yes"
Salwa : "What a beautiful painting!"
Malva : "Wow, really? Thank you! Do you like painting?"
Salwa : "I love to see paintings, but I can't paint."
Malva : "Why is that?"
Salwa : "Well, I'm allergic to the paints."
Malva : "Oh, is that so? I'm sorry to hear that. It's quite unusual, actually."
Salwa : "Yeah, I know. My mother said that someone who's allergic to paints have high intelligence."
Malva : "Oh yeah? That's really amazing!"
Salwa : "Thanks. Should we do our work?"
Malva : "Yes, we should!"
(Both of them are heading to Malva's room)

About Myself

Hi, people! Let me introduce myself. My name is Malva Nabila Suganda but you can call me Malva. I was born in Cirebon, April 6th 2000. I'm 15 years old now and I'm in the 1st grade of Senior High School. This is a short story about myself and I have to complete it for my English subject task.

So, where should I begin? Let's start with my family member first. I have one guy and one lady who got married and then gave birth to my brother, sister, and then me. And I called them my father and mother. Their age gap is 3 years old, and they went to the same senior high school. While the age gap between my brother and I are 10 years, and the age gap between my sister and I are 6 years. So, they are already an adult now.

Next are my favourite things. I like food. Many foods. Almost all kind of foods. But, what I love the most are noodles and soup. I usually like pop genre music, but I like to hear other music as well. My favourite time is when I'm with my friends or families, and we talked about many interesting topics and then laughing together. But sometimes, I also want to be alone. In that kind of time, I usually spent it with reading comics, watching shows, or just sleeping. But seriously, I think together is better.

I have hobbies that I think everyone does too. It is singing and drawing. Many people enjoy singing and drawing, and so do I. Because with that, I think I can express myself and what my feelings are. I am a moody person, a really moody person (my friends acknowledged it), and it's bad, right? I feel burdened when someone that did nothing wrong talked to me, and I replied with such a no-expression face. So, I'm trying to fix it. I'm going to try hard. Because it will affect to my future life, and it's not good, so, wish me luck.

About future, there are also things that makes me worried. This thing is what worry me the most. My friends already know what they want to be, and I think it's amazing. Because I still don't know yet. My mother said that I should be a doctor, but I'm not one of the best in Science class. I have most confident when I study English, Math, or Art. So, probably I want to be someone who's related to that subject. But, my dream goal is to be a good person, and being friends with so many people, and of course, staying in heaven. Aaaamiiin YaAllah Yarabbal 'aalamiin.

The short story about me is complete. Thank you for reading. :)
